Who can learn to kitesurf?

Those who are fairly fit and love the sea! Jacksons’ students range from a 9-year-old, to a 62-year-old gentleman – both are accomplished kitesurfers now!

Do I have to be strong?

No, you don’t need to be strong at all. All of the power of the kite is taken through your harness, and you only use your arms to control the kite.

Can I just try?

You can start with a ‘taster’ lesson with me to experience the adrenaline rush of kiting.

How long does it take to learn to kitesurf?

To learn the basics of kitesurfing usually takes between 4 to 20 hours. Having past experience in wakeboarding and snowboarding will help in your riding skills.

Is kitesurfing dangerous?

With a qualified instructor and with recent technological developments in kites and their safety systems, the sport of kitesurfing has evolved and has become safer than ever.

Where is the lesson conducted?

Depending on wind conditions, lessons in Singapore will be conducted at either East Coast Park or Tenah Merah Beach. We can also make special arrangements for lessons in Bintan (Indonesia) and Malaysia.

What do I need to bring to the lesson?

Do bring lots of water, sunglasses, sunscreen and a pair of booties.

Is the equipment provided?

Full kitesurfing equipment will be provided for beginners.

What happens if there is no wind?

We may postpone the lesson as kitesurfing is entirely dependent on the wind and weather.
